LEILA - Promoting Arabic Literature in Europe est une initiative portée entre 2021 et 2023 par l’IReMMo, et depuis 2023 par ATLAS - Association pour la promotion de la traduction littéraire en partenariat avec l’Agence Karkadé. Ce projet financé par Europe Créative puis par l’Institut français vise à rendre plus accessible aux éditeurs européens la littérature produite en arabe, en fédérant les acteurs du livre spécialistes de ces littératures, auteurs, chercheurs et traducteurs. A travers des ateliers professionnels, et surtout via la création d'un site web dédié qui regroupe des ressources et un catalogue de littérature arabe contemporaine, LEILA permet aux professionnels du livre en Europe de découvrir de nouvelles voix à traduire. LEILA a été présenté en 2023 et 2024 aux foires du livre de Francfort, Beyrouth, Londres, Sharjah et Abu Dhabi.
LEILA - Promoting Arabic Literature in Europe is an initiative led between 2021 and 2023 by IReMMo, and since 2023 by ATLAS - Association pour la promotion de la traduction littéraire in partnership with Agence Karkadé. This project, financed by Europe Créative and then by the Institut français, aims to make literature written in Arabic more accessible to European publishers, by bringing together those involved in the book trade who are specialists in this literature - authors, researchers and translators. Through professional workshops, and above all through the creation of a dedicated website bringing together resources and a catalogue of contemporary Arabic literature, LEILA enables book professionals in Europe to discover new voices to translate. LEILA was presented in 2023 and 2024 at the Frankfurt, Beirut, London, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi book fairs.
